This ceremony is carried out from the year from 1995 to the date, because the International Council of Good Vicinity Section Acuna City, Coahuila, decided to stand out the place that was headquarters of the First International Meeting carried out in this city by the presidents from Mexico, Lic. Adolfo López Mateos and of the United States of America the Gral. Dwight D. Eisenhower in October of the year of 1960, in the Dr. Juan Antonio Ortiz's residence.

In this place a small badge was located pointing out the historical place; and, being president of the International Council of Good Vicinity the Prof.. Carlos Lara González, with the architect's design Emilio Mendoza Berrueto and the collaboration of the partners of the different sections was possible to erect the first and only monument dedicated to the friendship between two countries.

Hug of the friendship.

This civic ceremony is made to commemorate the historical hug among the leaders of Mexico and United States of America who visited our frontier with reason in three occasions of, in 1960, to sign the treaty for the construction of the International Prey of the Friendship, being the presidents Atty.
